In the category of listening to you, we just scored 100% accuracy.
Based on overwhelming player demand, the PTF team is happy to announce that as of July 3, 2017, we are re-adjusting our point scoring system, focusing exclusively on accuracy.
The way things used to be: points were awarded on an algorithmic mix of participation, accuracy and bonus points, 10 for every friend you challenged and beat.
The way things are now: put simply…Precision = Points.
Yes, friends are important, but now at PTF, accuracy rules. Nothing wrong with friendly competition; virtually every game is more fun when played with others, and that shouldn’t stop. But because so many of you take the fun of PTF so seriously, we’ve gone deep into our system and re-jigged the way we reward you.
Sounds complicated, but it’s not.
To be more specific, on numeric entry predictions, accuracy points are calculated on this sliding scale:
Using this scale, a 99.4% accuracy score will get you 994 points, a 67.3% score will earn you 673 points, an 18.1% score will result in 181 points…and so on.
On multiple choice predictions, we spread out point rewards depending on number of choices available. A correct answer always gets you 1000 points, but “runner up” points are rewarded proportionately to your result among the choices. For example:
Clear? 100 bonus points to everyone who understands.
Seriously, we appreciate your dedication and passion for playing the future, and we hope that this player-led adjustment results in a much-increased satisfaction score, and that by introducing it, we just scored big points with you.
